Who We Are and What We Offer to Parents

Pikler® PlaySpace (JátékTér) is a parent-child group program based on the early childhood educational principles established by paediatrician Dr Emmi Pikler and her views on the significance of independent, self-initiated play, free movement, early competences in social interactions and the importance of observation

Our Parent-Child Groups offer infants and toddlers a physically and emotionally safe and secure environment that they can use freely, out of their own initiative and without unnecessary intervention, rules or restraints on the part of the adult. Parents gain support through shared observations with a professional during the one-hour sessions. This can lead to a deeper understanding of young children’s need for autonomy and bonding.

In addition to the PCG, we offer evening parenting programmes on pedagogical questions relating to the 0-3 age group. In these group discussions, parents can learn more about the Pikler Approach and also discuss their burning questions around independent play, social learning, conflicts between children, limit-testing behaviour, toilet learning, adapting to a daycare, expecting a new sibling, etc.
