”I recently had the pleasure and honor of visiting and enjoying the Public Daycare project by Graziela Kunsch with my family. I get emotional when I see the photos. The memories of the four days we spent there are intense and will be kept in our memory with affection and gratitude.

The space is very welcoming. How beautiful it was to see how our daughter felt at home and could make so many discoveries. She felt so good that even in a new place - and at the same time so familiar - she conquered new positions.

We parents felt like we were in paradise. The entire place was thought of as a family, with a structure to spend all day, and inspired by the Pikler approach. To play in a safe and lovingly prepared environment, with specific materials and spaces suitable for babies and small children. The structure was also welcoming in moments of care such as changing diapers, feeding and taking naps. And all this with free access to families with small children.

Sometimes we stay together observing our daughter explore and interact with the space, other times one of us could use the time to rest or even enjoy the other part (and what part!) of the project, aimed at the audience without children.

It was also possible to exchange experiences with other families. Some who, like us, are inspired by the Pikler approach and others who, through visiting the space, had their first contact with the Approach. One of them we spoke with had traveled there from Hamburg after reading about the exhibition at the Süddeutsche Zeitung, another was from Kassel, and after discovering the place, they were going there every day to spend a few hours a day with their baby. It was a very valuable exchange.

I kept dreaming of a place like this in Berlin, where I live, available for the use of families. Or even thinking about what a place like this would be like in every corner of this Earth. There's nothing like being able to spend time in a totally safe space prepared for families with young children, where you can feed, play, eat and change diapers. And all of them inspired by the Pikler approach. I have never found such an excellent and appropriate place to spend time together.

As a guest I had the pleasure of participating by collaborating with Graziela Kunsch in an event about our experience as a mother, offering the possibility of free movement at home, it was incredible.

It was a great pleasure to collaborate with this very special project by the artist Graziela Kunsch, with architecture created in partnership with Elke Avenarius. Grateful for being able to follow a good part of the process of this project here on this side of the planet. It was very gratifying and enjoyable to share and work with Graziela.

As if that wasn't enough, she also held an event at the "chão da Manu" park, where she took part of the daycare work to a park in Kassel. It was amazing and inspiring.

I believe that many families and professionals will be inspired by her work. And what a special way to get to know the Pikler Approach.”
