Dorothy Marlen

is a Pikler pedagogue who brought Pikler to the UK and co-founded the Pikler UK Association, chairing it for the first 7 years. She is Course Leader of the UK Level 3 Holistic Baby and Child Care Diploma which incorporates an introduction to the Pikler approach. For 11 years she has run parent and baby groups based on the Pikler approach and now writes and gives workshops on what she has learnt.

A Pebble Met Water - The profound and continuing impact of that first visit to the Pikler Institute and Anna Tardos's teachings

In 2016, we were honoured to welcome Anna Tardos and Zsuzsa Libertiny as keynote speakers at our Annual Pikler UK Association Conference in London. Our small association was just three years old and yet we managed to fill the venue with many interested delegates, all excited to hear what Anna had to share.

Since then, we've gone from strength to strength, and in this presentation, Dorothy Marlen, founding member and first association Chair, will talk about how she first came across the Pikler approach, how she was influenced by Anna, and how she and other UK practitioners have been inspired by Anna's enthusiasm, encouragement and research.
